1993 & 1994 - Snoball Stand at Fullerton Field near Belair Road
1995, 1996 & 1997 - Snoball Stand on Belair Road next to the Woodlea Bakery.
1995-2005 - Snoball stand at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, MD
May 1999 - Current PA home location, Stewartstown Country Store opened. Snoballs were sold from a pushcart in parking lot.
July, 1999 - Snoballs sold from trailer outside, Turkey Hill ice cream and gifts available inside store.
March, 2000 - Snoballs sold from walk up tropical window at garage area of building. Ice Cream and Candy inside.
2000- 2004 - Pit Beef sandwiches available on weekends.
September, 2001 - Snoball service inside store or walk up window.
March, 2002 - Name of store changed to Summers Ice Cream & Snoballs, soft serve ice cream became available.
May, 2004 - Bonkey's Ice Cream & Snoballs opens in New Freedom. (name from Bonnie & Keith)
March, 2007 - 7 flavors of homemade ice cream available. By June - over 30 homemade flavors.
March, 2008 - Bonkkaccinos arrive - blended ice coffees .... and sippable sundaes!!
March, 2009- "Smile and say Cheesecake", frozen and dipped in chocolate...yum...and
"Double Double Pick" pick any 4 ice cream flavors in 1 dish!
March, 2010 - "Sippable Sundaes" - a thick milkshake, eaten with a spoon and a straw. Topped with hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream & a Cherry! Yum. It's a Sundae AND a Milkshake!
March, 2011 - Bonkey's opens in Ocean View, Bethany Delaware.
"Why Bethany Beach? " We have been asked, and here is the reason. After losing a family member near and dear to us in May of 2010, priorities change. While family has always been so important, the time we have is precious too. What better way to be close to family that resides in Bethany... Have our niece manage the shop... Our children and nephews are able to work there for the summer...Our parents are able to spend time with their grandkids, and oh , yeah...it is close to the beach!! Sort of like a working vacation while keeping close to family...and did I mention it is close to the beach!!
HOMEMADE ICE CREAM: WE USE A MIX OF MILK, CREAM AND SUGAR, A RECIPE THAT IS MANUFACTURED AND PROCESSED ESPECIALLY FOR US, FROM A LOCAL PENNSYLVANIA DAIRY. THIS SPECIAL MILK MIX IS DELIVERED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF MILKING THE COWS, ALREADY HOMOGENIZED AND PASTEURIZED.
WE ADD THE FRESHEST INGREDIENTS AND FLAVORS TO ENSURE OUR ICE CREAM IS THE CREAMY, BEST!
This is the beginning of the 20th year serving snoballs and keeping "hot people cool"!
